I don’t think there is one thing in life that I have ever procrastinated doing for so very long.
The trigger for finally getting on with it? Two words in a noun – Elie Saab – and I would like to have that on the record.
My name is Jess and I am part writer/ part dreamer / part realist. I live in Hong Kong and previously spent much of my time in Australia (I suspect, most of my fleeting soul is still there, largely residing in Sydney). I was born in Singapore and spent most of my childhood and dreadful semi-delinquency there.
I believe that words have an unspeakable power, and love the way pictures are pieced when words are lyrically strung together. As a visitor, you might want to note that my posts (which by the way will be indisputably incoherent) are manifestations of having lived in and loved (so passionately, too) different cities. So pardon the fickle!
I’m not going to pretend I know exactly what I’m doing here. But I do know this place will reflect beauty in colours, shapes, textiles and fabrics. This little space will be inundated by daily (or not) thoughts and visuals outside of mundane work-life requirements. This white splash of a corner will come alive and peck you in the head incessantly. Maybe, just maybe, you will love it.
So hey, hello there. Come on in and make yourself comfortable – don’t mind the hordes of literature on the floor and the occasional dust – but please don’t crease your skirt on my Kartell stool.
